The January 25, 1978 Toronto Sun has an article titled "Scientologists hurry to move headquarters" which says a fire caused $340,000 damage to a building the church was moving out of. "The move, planned before the fire, will be completed as soon as possible..."

The JAnuary 21, 1978 Toronto Star said the fire was "early today" and it was on Avenue Rd. north of Bloor St. No injuries were reported.

The January 22 Toronto Star said the fire were started in a photocopying machine while it was being used. Carol Andrews said "The fire spread so fast, in maybe 10 or 15 minutes the whole building was filled with smoke."

This last article also says "There are about 10,000 members of the church in the Toronto." Uh huh.
